Why Would We Start a Blog?

Welcome to our blog! 

That almost feels cliché to say in the 21st century where everyone and their puppy has a website, but that doesn’t stop us from being excited to have you as a reader.  So, why a blog?  What could possibly drive the brains of two Bernedoodle-based breeding buffs to a life of benign blogging? 

Well, our love for alliteration of course… Our love for alliteration and, more importantly, our love for what we do.

There are a whole lot of Bernedoodle breeding programs that you can choose from.  As you make that choice, we want you to be informed.  Your new puppy isn’t just a small loaf of cuteness, they’re a new family member.  The impact they will have on your life is special, and whether you’re looking at Haystack Mountain or another program, we want to ensure you get the best new puppy possible. Researching pet standards, best practices and breeding ethics can get daunting. Even moreso, oftentimes it’s hard to even know the right questions to ask.  

Our blog is here to be a complete source of Bernedoodle information.  Think of it as Bernedoodle University (I’m sure you can guess what our mascot is) and you don’t need to take the SAT to get in.  Whether you’re a first time puppy parent or a seasoned dog sage, the information here will help you in your Bernedoodle journey… especially if you want to get past the generic, broad well of semi-useful information that is Google’s first page.  We want to talk about what actually matters when it comes to top-quality breeding practices, and even moreso we want to make that information accessible to potential puppy parents (there’s that alliteration again).  

To begin that journey, we had to figure out a place to start.  How do you begin to tackle the totality of breeding, raising and loving dogs?  We think a discussion about credibility is in order. After all, most every breeder claims they have the best puppies, so what actually sets programs apart?  Don’t get us wrong, there are a plethora of great breeders out there, but we’ve also seen many that are not.  We think you should understand the best practices to look for so you know the difference.
